Well, I made it till May 5th and made a frantic call to my Dr. I called crying to my primary doctor's office. They got a message to him and he got me in an hour later. Took blood work and talked me through what had been going on with the other doctor weaning me off the Klonopin on a 6 week plan. Dr. B. told me to start taking the klonopin nightly as I had done for years and take an anti-depressant. He told me to stay home from work for a week and try to avoid all stress. That turned out to be two and a half weeks off work. I had to give up the Mirapex or Requip I was on at that time. Then I returned to the Dr. after being back on klonopin for 30 days with high hopes of starting a new method of withdrawal. He said I needed to wait 6 months. He kept me from checking into the hospital with my unbearable withdrawal symptoms so I'll do it his way!! My sleep study reported I jerked various parts of my body over 1,000 times in 6 hours. For now I'm able to fall asleep and have no daytime symtoms. I'm functioning again even if I am tired most of the time. Someday I want to be free of Klonopin. I gave up smoking 5 years ago after smoking for 38 years. Someday I will overcome Klonopin too.
And you are so right Barb. There is not much action on the forum. I've checked some others and got some ideas. Next time I won't try 6 weeks. It will be 6 - 18 months if necessary. I hope Requip will work better for you than it did for me. Maybe it would have if I hadn't been addicted to Klonopin.
