More than likely you have OSA. Sleep apnea causes jerks during sleep. RLS is a waking disorder, only happens when awake and is not jerking, but a funny hard to describe feeling. PLMS happen during sleep, however, sleep apnea will look like PLMS. Once the sleep apnea is treated the PLMS goes away.
No way to know whay you jerk around during the day. First thing is to have a sleep consult for sleep apnea.
