You might want to read my response to "eddie" just above. When you eat depends on what sleep pattern is working for you. Try not to eat heavily before sleeping or when working your midnight hours. Light snacks are the order then.

Any substantial meal should only be eaten when you normally will be awake for a substantial period of time except for night shift hours.
I know that doesn't leave much of a window but try your best.

I've yet to run into a dietician who was able to deal with the problems of shiftwork and eating. I'm sure there must be some out there but so far I haven't had any luck. It could also be that the problem has no solution.
