truck driving schedule

Posted by Heather on June 27, 2000 at 13:12:43:

Please help. My new husband is a truck driver and works most weeks from Tuesday to Saturdays, 18-20 hours a day. With maybe an hour nap somewhere along the way. He comes home and is exhausted and sleeps his days off. He has become very discouraged about life. I feel it is due to his sleeping patterns. Could I be right? Should he sleep as much as possible on his days off to make up for lost time, or is it healthier to keep a schedule, for example, just sleep a normal 8 hour night, or less?

I'd like to have an "alive" husband when he is home. Any suggestions?

Heather
