Read my posting ATTENTION etc posted 6/19/00. follow postings TOXIC SHIFTS especially the provision for accelerated seniority and longevity for shiftwork and the exemption for employees once they reach a certain age.

Frequently rotating shifts are hell. My recomendation is for quarterly shift changes except for those who want to continue on midnights. This allows more choice rather forcing everyone to rotate. Much depends on the symetry of manning requirements and age distribution.

Every list of items comprising something called sleep hygene includes regular (same) time every day for going to sleep.
