I shuda steered you to the ACEP site, dumbhead that I am. (American College of Emergency Physicians) Do a search using rotating shifts and you'll get three nice articles. I've been pushing this site regularly because of DR. Thomas's original article which I think he has improved over the last few years. But they have also added an article on how to design an optimal work schedule. Print them out and wave them in John Wayne's face.

My life seems to be made up of wudas, shudas and cudas.
