How long will it take to be normal again?

Posted by kaotic 1 on July 13, 2000 at 01:39:38:

After 10 years of shift work I am going back to regular day hours. For the last month I have been slowly changing my schedule. This week I took the big plunge and uncovered my windows. I used all the tricks in my aresenal. I stop drinking caffeine in the early evening. I take melatonin. I excercise to the point of exhaustion. I still can't get to sleep b4 1 or 2. Thing is I start my new job next week and it involves alot of travel. Sunday I fly to New York which has 3 hour time difference to here. So my first week I will be going to work at the equivilent of 6 am my time. Either this will shock me into dayshift or kill me. Anyone have any ideas on how to handle it? Anyone gone from night to day shift? How long was b4 you were sleeping normally again?

Thanks
