Posted by Jeff J. on July 13, 2000 at 07:20:07:hello everyone:
about a year ago i found an article in USA Today (i think...) that detailed the effects of working third shift on your health, your lifespan, your chances for promotion, wages, etc.
i think it was produced from a report from a government agency that had studied the effects of working third shift.
i have searched for this article or for information on the study, but have not been able to find it. i've found bits and pieces in other places, but the article seemed to sum it all up.
does anyone know where i can find this article or further details of the study? does anyone know the name of the agency? and is this study conducted annually or was this a one-time study?
thanks,
jeff j.p.s.
i've worked third shift for three years, and it really doesn't bother me that much. i'm definately a night person and where i work at least, i don't want to work ANY of the shifts offered. third shift is just the lesser of three evils!
