If you are most alert in the early am, you may need to plan to do some relaxing/ unwinding things when you get home and go to sleep 10am or so.
It usually works better for folks to keep their sleep schedule as consistent as possible.
It might be better to sleep 'before' work instead of 'after' work as most night people do. That is, instead of going home and straight to bed, time your sleep so you get up, get ready, and go straight to work, using after work time to run errands, etc.
