Posted by JJ on February 10, 2002 at 00:35:57:If there are still folks working a non-12 hours schedule, I am interested on how you work through a 40 hour/week 8-hour rotating shift schedule (including start-stop days of the week) In our office, we have a 5-person rotation working
7 12-8am (Fri-Thu)...3 off (fri-sat-sun)
5 8-4pm (Mon-Fri)...3 off (sat-sun-mon)
6 8-4pm (Tue-Sun)...2 off (mon-tue)
7 4-12am (wed-tue)...2 off (wed-thu)
**************then repeats*************There are three teams of five people...all who work the above schedule. To avoid working with the same people all the time, one of the three teams "column" shift every 10 weeks. The fourth team works a different 5-person rotation that is not popular. As a result, they are proposing going into a modified schedule mentioned at the top. However, we are trying to perhaps stagger their shifts to start on different days of the week. Throwing another team into the mix with the same rotation as the other three really plays havoc with the notion of not working with the same people all the time.
By the way, we are mandated here to work 40-hours a week with no flex time or alternate work schedules.
Thanks,
jj
