this really bites

I work for a sheriff's dept. on a 12 hr. rotating shift. Not bad you say. Try this on for size.
6:ooam-6:00pm four days on
four days off
6:00pm-6:00am four days on every single week no change, days then nights, days then nights no break no adjusting to your schedule circadian rythums are history
I've been doing this for two years, and I can't remember the last time I felt truly well rested. But I love my job. This is really getting to me it's affecting my memory and my abillity to concentrate there are even times when I can't remember for sure how to spell my own middle name.
It's 2:00 am and I have just finished off my third cup of the most awful smelling valerian root tea and I am not even drowsy. Please say there is something I can do other than find a new job.
