Swelling or distention in certain areas of the abdomen is indicative of certain medical problems. If you have swelling and/or tenderness in a specific area that lasts more than a day or two, you should see a doctor.
I can think of nothing about sleep times that would relate. It's possible that you are building up air in your stomach, but if it lasts longer than the day you ate the tacos (or whatever), get it checked out.
