Questions about 12hr rotating schedules

Posted by Sat Tech on May 11, 2002 at 23:02:45:

I work in satellite operations and we have recently gone to an 8hr 24/7 rotating schedule, and I have to be honest... it is terrible! We worked 12hr 24/7 rotations for about 12-14 years and our company put us on 8's to cut back cost. We have been told that we can go back to 12's if we can devise a schedule that doesn't have built in overtime. My question is can that be achieved?? Several of us have been trying to come up with something and are about to go crazy as it seems that it cannot be done. Any help or information any one can provide about a 12 hr 24/7 rotation with no built in overtime would be most appreciated! We are desperate to get back to 12hr rotations so we can have our lives back.
