For one I'm assuming you were working 8 hour days,40 hour weeks. Now your working 12 hour days 48 hour weeks
So now your working 16 days per month instead of 21. Thats 24 hours more per Per month.
Are they paying you straight time + 30% all the time or just on night shift?
lets say you make $12.00 an hour for 96 hours of day shift work per month, Thats $1152.00.
And you make $12.00+30%=$15.60 per hour for 96 hours of night shift per month, thats $1497.60.
Thats a grand total of $2649.60 for 192 hours worked.
If they are paying you straight time for all your hours + 30%,thats $12.00 x 192 hrs = $2304.00
+ 30%= $2995.20, even better !
Either way it's better than getting paid time and a half for overtime, and $1.00 or more extra an hour for night shift pay. Thats usually the norm.
