at my wits end

Posted by mollie on August 07, 2002 at 15:49:33:

wasn't sure if i should post here or on the insomnia forum. i chose to post here because the problem is related to my work schedule. i'm a lifelong night owl. for many years i was happy and content working the midnight shift. never had any problems sleeping in the daytime. i was laid off from my night job. now i'm working 8 a.m. ( sometimes 7 a.m. ) to 3 or 4 p.m. i can barely drag myself out of bed and i'm exhausted all day long. my coworkers often get together after work. i've been invited to come along, but i always say no because i'm so tired. i go home and drink coffee so i can stay awake long enough to cook and eat dinner. i'm in bed by 9 or 10, but even though i'm exhausted i toss and turn unil 12 or 1. i feel like i should be up and doing things. i'm looking for another night job, but in the meantime is there anything i can do? i feel like a zombie.
