Sleeping pills help

Posted by Cris on October 05, 2002 at 22:57:51:

Hi I work crazy hours. NEVER the same and I spend 24 hours on call at times. My doctor gave me Sonata as we decided I only wanted to take pills when I HAD to. Sonata only requires 4-5 hours of sleep to wear off. So I can try to sleep and still be able to take them.
The problem some nights they just DON'T work. When they work they are GREAT. But somenights My brain can fight off the pills. If I stand up my body will be all sleepy and I can't walk. But my brain has turned into Einstein _ I am thinking planning and inventing all sorts of stuff. It is soooo interesting that I keep myself up.
Has anyone else had problems with this? I will talk to my doctor, but wondered about others? Do some of you use maybe 2 different sleeping pills? Do you build up tolerances to the pills? I only take them mayne 2 - 3 times a week but if I do them 2 nights in a row - the 2nd time never seems to be as easy as the first. Is this normal? Or am I totally on the wrong pills?
