Mood and sleep problems

Posted by drk280 on October 09, 2002 at 23:53:30:

TO anyone out there, we are a group of 20 employees working shift work in the biggest elctric company in Australia, we do the emergancy response. We are in a 20 week rotating roster and shifts vary with morning afternoon and overnight (only 7 in 20weeks) since doing this job for just over 2 years, I am finding that i get easily irritated by little things, and affects family members, we also work alone and completely isolated from other workmates, we all see each other 4 hours once a month. The work is dispatched via computer. Just wondering if others out there are suffering from these mood problems, it appears that others in our group are too. Also, do you feel tired even after sleeping 7 or 8 hours? I am wondering wether the isolation or the rotating shifts are causing this problem.

Thank you
