Have you seen a sleep specialist? There are certain genetic disorders that interfere with sleep--they're pretty rare, but it would take an expert to diagnose them. Don't be surprised if your general practitioner has no clue what to tell you about your problem. Most physicians receive little or no training in sleep disorders during medical school.
