I've worked 3rd shift for 6 years now and have finally gotten a routine going that actually works. Maybe it'll work for some of you. The worst day of the week as far as being really tired are Sunday night/Monday mornings. You have to focus on getting enough sleep on Sunday night. I carry a night schedule during the week...I sleep from 9am to 2pm or 3pm and then usually 8pm to 10pm. I work 11-7. And say on Friday mornings if I do not have to work overtime Fri/Sat then I'll stay up all day Friday working around the house, playing with my daughter, or just whatever to stay active and carry a normal schedule on the weekend and then try to catch a few small naps on Sunday and at least a couple hours on Sunday night. But with any shift though, there will be days you'll be wore out anyways. Taking those "wake-me-up pills" work temporarily but just make you even more tired and sometimes sick when they wear off because its just false energy so they're not a great idea.
