Shift work is a very common cause for sleep disorders and bad sleeping patterns - Insomnia, oversleeping and so on.

By the way – sleepiness, a tendency to oversleep a lot, and having trouble waking up are called by sleep specialists - Hypersomina.

Anyway, the first thing any sleep expert will tell you is that you must get used to go to sleep and wake up at the same time. In other words - you need to keep a sleep routine.

When you don't keep a steady routine of sleep and wake up time, you go against your biological clock. It prevents you from getting a high quality sleep, and this obviously has its consequences – tiredness and oversleeping or Insomnia.

I personally fought and finally beaten my own oversleeping problem. You can read my story on my site, at: http://a-sleep.com
