At Argonne's Advanced Photon Source we rotate something like this:
week 1 Non operational days (back up or float) M-F
week 2 Operational days (actual day shift) M-F
week 3 Starts on Wed with a non operational day Th-F 15-23 Sa-Su 11-23
week 4 M-W 15-23, Off Th-F, 23-11 F-Sa am Sa-Su am
week 5 23-7 Su pm- Fri am

This gives a literal four day weekend and a 72 hour weekend during the rotation.

Don't know if this helps, but it works for us.
