Need a 24/7 schedule w/8 hrs & 8ppl

I desparately need to get myself and fellow operators off the 12 hour shifts. We have to have 2 people on at all times. It is a straight eight hours. We get paid for our lunches. But we seem to have a hard time holding on to extra bodies once we get them. We have been at a constant 8 employees for 2 years. Although it has been nice to have three days off, it is wearing everyone done. Does anyone have any ideas of getting back to 8 hours or adding in split shifts? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
