The medication is called Provigil (modafinil). It was fist approved for Narcolepsy then in conjunction with CPAP for OSA then Shift-work. Most people who have been prescribed strong stimulants for a long period of time don't feel they work. Most people who having used stimulants feel the work well. Everyone is different.

They help maintain alertness without the side effects of normal stimulants. It is expensive so hopefully your insurance company will pay for it.
