Hi all!
Just joined the forum.

I am a waiter at a hotel restaurant & the shift work takes the form of: 07:00 - 12:00 & 18:30 - 23:30/00:00. Most of the time we finish at midnight & then start at 6am. After traveling to & from work this gives me generally 5 hours sleep.

All the other staff manage to wake up alert & come into work on time, but I can't seem to manage to wake up alot of the time & when I do wake-up I am sleepy & a bit slow until around 10am. I have loud alarms but I ethier sleep through them or (& this is sooo aggrevating!) I turn them off in my sleep - I have no recollection of doing this.
I've had whole conversations with people whilst I'm asleep & do not remember it! How can this be?

Recently I have started to fall asleep in the bathroom at work & at my girlfriends. This is all getting me into trouble & people think I'm either just lazy or don't care.

I do care, trust me on that. I am 24, not overwieght, eat a balaned diet & cycle & walk 60% of the time. I need a pill or something to wake me up gradually so that I don't switch off alarms or am too drowsy to function properly. I don't think its a major disorder I have...but this is an issue I can't control & I want to stop it before it gets worse.

I suffer from migraines, might the two be connected?

Any replies appreciated. Thanks.
