Only 4 out the 5 do shifts and the 5th person does days for 8 weeks then it changes etc etc. reason the 5th does days is to act as cover for shifts when any of the other 4 take annual leave. at the moment we do 2days, 2nights, 2days off and 2 on call. there has to be 1 person on call for every day of the week! over an 8 week period we can not exceed 37.5hrs per week average! we are allowed an hour lunch break, our contracts state that we should only be on call for 1 day out of the 4 we get off but ive been told that the shift pattern cant work to have 1 day only on call! i believe they havent employed enough people but if any1 can help id be really appreciative
