Sleepy Animals
How do dolphins sleep?
Some animals have very unusual sleep patterns. The dolphin is one of the most versatile in
getting sleep. Dolphins never close their eyes and fall asleep. No, nature gave them a
special advantage over most other mammals, they use one half of their brain to swim and be on
the lookout while the other half of the brain sleeps. After a while the two sides of the
brain will switch so they each get their required sleep. Some birds can do this while flying
long distances but the dolphin is the only known mammal to be able to do so. Will humans ever
develop this unique ability... Stay tuned next week and find out what the Sandman predicts!

Moon can affect sleep!
Ever feel like you can't sleep when there is a full moon. The moon has
been reported to effect a persons emotions. Some bars close on the full
moon due to many brawls. Some countries (especially Southeast Asia) have a national holiday for every full moon year around. Every thing closes even banks and most people go to the beaches etc. and build bonfires and
celebrate well into the night. If you have some news about the moon and sleep send it in and you may get your story posted right here!
