Daylight Saving Time Ends!

Sunset
(You can gain an extra hour sleep!)

Daylight Savings Time ends this month which gives us all a chance to catch up on some of our zzz's. Most of us do not have the time to get the required amount of sleep to feel alert and refreshed throughout the day. However, here is a way to "make up and wake up!" After you set your clocks back, if you go to bed at your normal "wall clock" time you will be staying up an hour later than usual. Your "internal biological clock" will want you to go to sleep at its usual time which is an hour earlier according to the new "wall clock." So this is what you do: Go to bed at your normal "internal biological clock" time (one hour earlier than usual on the "wall clock"), and wake up when you normally do (according to the "wall clock.") So if you usually go to bed at 11pm and get up at 7am, go to bed at 10pm and get up at 7am, and you will gain an hour of sleep! Sounds complicated I know, but try it and see if you feel better the next day. Maybe you will like how you feel so much that you will continue this new sleep schedule indefinitely. Share your results on the Sleep Forum. I check them regularly.

Have you had problems coping with CPAP? Are you interested in joining or starting a support group? You are not the only one. Many support groups are available but the one which works best with sleep apnea and using CPAP is the A.W.A.K.E. network. You may find an A.W.A.K.E group in your town. To find out if you do or to begin one if you don't contact the ASAA and they will by happy to help.

Beginning with the May issue stories received will be posted on the SnoozePaper.
