Have you had problems coping with CPAP? Are you interested in joining or starting a support group? You are not the only one. Many support groups are available but the one which works best with sleep apnea and using CPAP is the A.W.A.K.E. Network. You may find an A.W.A.K.E group in your town. To find out if you do or to begin one if you don't contact the ASAA and they will be happy to help.

National Sleep Awareness Week

March 27 - April 2, 2000

Let healthy Sleep Begin!

 

National Sleep Awareness Week is upon us again. This year many new events are being planned and Sleepnet.com wishes for the best.

  • News Conference, Tuesday, March 28 at 9 a.m. Scheduled panelists include William C. Dement, MD, Ph.D., of Stanford University, Mary Carskadon, Ph.D., of Brown University, and Dennis Holland, Ph.D.. The conference will be held at 9 a.m. at the National Press Club in Washington, DC.
  • 2000 Healthy Sleep Capital of the Nation Award which is being presented for the second time, will be announce at the News Conference.
  • Presidential Proclamation: President Clinton has officially recognized National Sleep Awareness Week.
  • USA Today "Ask-the-Sleep-Expert" Hotline USA Today will feature a promotion for a toll-free phone hotline featuring sleep experts on March 28 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. More than 60 experts from 15 states have volunteered for this popular event, coordinated in partnership with The National Sleep Foundation.

    Sleepnet.com is hoping this years NSAW will be the best yet and bring the much needed awareness of sleep and its disorders to a new national level which can not be ignored by the 24 hour society in which we live now.
