My suggestion is to see the list of suggested readings in the back of the BRPT exam application booklet. I have several and found that I liked "Sleep Disorders Medicine" (Chokroverty), "Principles and Practice of Sleep Medicine in the Child" (Ferber & Kryger), "ECGs Made Easy" (Aehlert), and "The Atlas of Sleep Medicine" (Shepard).
When I was studying for my exam, I wish I had a book called "Sleep Medicine Pearls" (Barry - I think, I don't have the book in front of me) that includes 101 case studies. I didn't focus on Respiratory, since I have a background in RT.
The BEST advice I can give is to find an EEG tech and a PSG tech who can answer your questions, explain things, and offer support.
GOOD LUCK!!!!
