New standards are on the AASM website. I couldn't see the difference between the lab and center. The Director can only be board eligible but must be certified in 2 yrs. On down in the standards there is a requirment for everything to be singed off by a boarded doc. I understand that clarification on interpretation and grading will be released soon. We just must have more docs interested in getting the boards. In another year the one year fellowship will be required. It is a steep learning curve. The Stanford school is the place to start. All the above can be said about the need for more RPSGT's. The insurance companies are learning that they can use this as an excuse not to pay. We must keep the quality up. Sleep medicine is becoming a full time job but very interesting and rewarding. Good luck, JPH
