Posted by RPSGT on February 11, 2002 at 13:37:14:I am wondering what other sleep center's are doing. What are the pros and con of working 12 vs 10 hour shifts? Is it unreasonable to ask staff to work 4-10 hour night shifts? No scoring or other duties required besides patient hookup and aquisition.
How many hospitals consider three 12 hour shifts full time?
When are you having patients come in?
We currently have patients come at 8:00PM and 9:00 PM and figure 1 to 1 1/2 hours for hookup.
By 11:oo PM both patients should be hooked up and ready to go to bed. Does that sound right?
Thanks a bunch for any info you can share.
