So upset by favoritism!!!

Posted by Little 'Ol Me on February 20, 2002 at 22:24:30:

I am just venting, please excuse.............
I work full time in a Lab and we have a Registry Tech who works most Sundays, as needed. If I were to want to change my schedule as a full time person to work Sundays, I would have to talk to my Manager and see if the Registry tech might be willing/able to work a different night, I could not just waltz in and "take" her Sunday without, 1) consulting my Manager and 2) me or my Manager discussing it with the Registry Tech, right??? That's only appropriate. Well, at my other job, I AM the Registry Tech. I came in to work and guess what? The full time tech TOOK my night. Just changed the schedule and took it. Didin't ask, didn't consult me, didn't even leave a note. I ask the Manager, and he says "well she is full time and she gets to pick whatever days she wants" I said, yes, I realize she is full time, but I very specifically said I would be working Tuesdays. He just basically repeated what he said before, so I said - after 4 years - fine, I resign. Do you all agree?????? I am so upset!
Thanks everyone.
p.s. This is not the first time things like this have happened in this Lab to me and to other employees concerning this one certain tech. The Manager lets her abuse everyone else around her. (She used to be his girlfriend a long time ago)
