I've received several inquiries...hopefully this will provide some further information for those expressing an interest:
Ours is a fully Accredited Center in Tampa Florida (we're the only local center Accredited, and have been for 10 years). We have five beds on the main campus, and two auxiliary hospitals each with two beds, both likely to expand to four within the next two years. We are also starting a pediatric program on the main campus.
The technical director's position will be open in the next few weeks.
Duties include: Scoring (perhaps four or five studies per day) MSLTs (perhaps one or two a month) All operational activities (tech
training...infrequent, as we have a relatively low turnover, but with the new labs expanding, and with the normal attrition....there is always some training going on. We also have a liaison with the University, and at times the fellows come over for training ( once or twice a month )...also all equipment, supplies, computer interaction (we have Rembrandt systems throughout ) are the Technical director's responsibility.
We also participate in symposia each year and have monthly clinical and staff meeting at which sleep related articles from the literature are
reviewed. The technical director also interacts with the patients sent in for acclimatization to CPAP, or if problems are identified ( we call every patient... the tech calls for routine problems, the director to handle anything else ).
It's a big job, but we have a great staff,
and are well thought of in the community. We're proud of our lab, and are looking for someone who will be up to the job, and work well with
the group...
Salary is dependent on experience and other factors, including credentials, previous job duties, other areas of expertise
etc....probably less than you'd like....but we're worth it !
If you're interested, email me and I'll get back to you...djs
