At our lab, full-time techs may choose to work 4 10-hour nights with no scoring required, or 3 longer nights with scoring expected. The techs who do the longer nights usually like to come in early and score one test, and then score a second one "on-the-fly" during acquisition. (Two tests scored per night is the goal.)

HOWEVER, our Medical Director does send more "night-scored" tests back for re-scoring than "day-scored" ones.... So it is likely that night-scorers make more errors due to their divided attention....
