Posted by RPSGT hopeful on June 04, 2002 at 18:27:46:How many apneas is too many in an overnight psg that would not require a MSLT? On some patients, we've scheduled an overnight psg, then if neg for sleep apnea, they stay for the mslt. My patient last night had about 19 REM apneas over the course of the night (from 10pm-6am). Is this enough to make her sleepy during the day, and cause her daily headaches? I made her stay for the MSLT, but I hate making these decisions. Is there a magical number?
