We have the same dilemma, and I also hate making that decision. I have them stay for at least the first nap. Then score the study and see what the RDI is. Our lab goes by an RDI of 8 or less to stay. If they have more than that, then they go home, if they don't, they stay. It seems to work well here. Of course, if they events are REM related only, then that has to be looked at too. So, it is a judgement call, and sometimes better to be safe than sorry. Hope this helps...
