If you are in doubt,perhaps it would be best to keep the patient for mslt. Accuracy of apnea and upper airway resistance monitoring, varies greatly depending on instrumentation and monitoring devices.The answer to a "magic number"
will also vary depending on who you ask.Maybe,you should start with your medical director. Some sleep centers have adopted a policy to keep the patient for mslt if they do not get put on positive pressure that night.
