Posted by RRT/RPSGT on August 24, 2002 at 22:19:35:RRT can cross train to be a RPSGT and do well once trained. They usually have a good general medicine back groud. But just having a RRT does not give the range of knowledge to acquire or score a polysomnogram. Maybe a RRT is qualified to do a sleep study but not a polysomnogram. Electoneurodiagnostic techs are usuall better trained to run PSGs as compared to RRTs
