Most will agree that "true centrals" are rare. However, having at least one machine that can run a rate would be ideal for a lab that prides itself in having the tools necessary to do a good job. Ask your boss if she wouldn't mind you passing along to all of your referring physicians her commnets and thoughts about cantrals being rare, and the fact you don't have an s/t BiPAP.
I guess your boss is not an RT or RPSGT, huh?
Also... if a competator called my lab and asked my opinion about equipment to buy, do you think I'm going to tell them the wise thing to do?
