Are you being paid 1/2 time extra for working the 1/2 extra FTE by covering the 3rd patient? If not then you are essentially doing the 3rd patient for no pay. Who would ask a sleep tech to do that? Besides, the AASM recommends only 2 patients per tech unless there is a 2nd tech there to help hookup and relieve or help you when necessary.
Honestly, how much are you making per hour and how many hours per shift? I hope it is at least $30.00/hr on a 12 hour shift.
