In our lab there's no way to know who will be on CPAP any particular night unless they are coming back for a titration study. If pts. come in for their baseline PSG and meet the criteria for CPAP soon enough in the night so that we've got time enough for a split, we'll give them a split. So at any one time there could be as many as 6 CPAPs going at once for two night techs. That doesn't occurr often though. The only problems we have are with the Pts. who cannot tolerate CPAP for one reason or another.
