The patients get a 7 hour study, and they honestly couldn't sing my praises any louder (most of them shake my hand vehemently, and some have tried to hug me!) Quality of collection is fabulous, as well as the quality of analysis. I ~definietely~ don't get paid $30/hour, although I do get paid on a per unit basis to score, and I can do that during my shifts which can make it the equivalent of $30/hour (no, the patients don't get neglected while I'm scoring, my CPAP titrations are truly exquisite!) The only thing I can think of is that here in Canada the cost of the studies are covered by our health plan, and the Dr.'s can't gouge the insurance companies to pay massive sums per sleep study... hmmm, maybe I should make a border run and defect;)
