It's just too bad that we can't self-regulate our field and stop hiring cram school grads across the board. There's a reason why I as an RPSGT cannot go work in a state such as Nebraska, which requires PSG Technologists to have a healthcare license most preferable in Nursing or Respiratory. These states want to protect the public and give their constituents assurance that a person doing a PSG has gone through a standardized training program and licensing procedure and knows what the heck they're doing in a lab. Either we become proactive and stop hiring cram grads or the individual states and the AARC/ANA will make that decision for us. That's the best way I know to protect this profession.
