From Same Manual, I read farther, to the Personnel section instead of clinicians section:
PE.2. The center must have a sufficient number of adequately trained and supervised technologists
Standards:
1) Technologists must have valid certification in CPR
2) The technical staff is able to perform the duties listed in the AASM position statement, "Role and Qualifaication of the Tehcnologists Performing Polysomnography"
3) Technonogist staffing must be adequate to address the workload of the center and assure safety of patients. It is recommended that there be a ratio of one technician to two patients under most circumstances.
4) It is recommended that the center have at least one registered polysomonographic technologist on staff. The AASM position paper may be downloaded from the AASM website: http://www.aasmnet.org/
Note all of the equivocating language, it is only a recommendation to maintain the 1:2 ratio and have one registered technologist on staff.
