But to me that seems like a way to justify sleep on the cheap. Everyone knows that there is a shortage of techs in this field. And to require that all techs at acredited labs be registered in sleep would cause many if not most to shut down.
I've been to labs that tout their acreditation with anywhere from 10-15 techs on staff, with barely a handful with RPSGT registration, the remainder being barely more than prep techs. People who couldn't tell a Delta wave from a donut hole. If the AASM accreditation is the gold standard that it's made out to be, this should not be happening.
