It is not unresonable to want every tech. in the sleep lab to be registered. In fact it should be the goal of every sleep lab out there. Quality of techs should always be reviewed. On the other hand, just because you have OJT to become a sleep tech does not mean you are some slough off the street. Back in the day even nurses and x- ray techs were trained OJT. It can be a good thing to train that way with the understanding that your techs need to become registered. I can see in the future that all sleep techs are going to be required to hold a registry. They call it quality control.
