I have about the same amount of experience as you. The problem is advanced education means absolutely nothing in neuro/sleep; not when you see EEG techs with a 2 year vocational degree at best getting promoted into mgnmnt positions or sleep techs with minimal experience getting plum mgr jobs. It's all about the schmooze. And quite honestly, I'm looking at IDTF's more than anywhere else. I'm tired of dealing with EEG labs that open Sleep labs out of economic necessity, ie dwindling EEG procedures. I got into this area because I love Sleep, not EEG. I would not work in a lab that required techs to rotate between EEG & Sleep.
