Actually, It's like asking a day shift workers to work until 9:30. It guarantees them their 40 hours. Also, it is only 3 day a week, set schedule. In addition, when I started in sleep in 1993, I worked 7p to 830a. Every night tech job I've had was 7p to 830a. Every night tech job in this city is 7p to 830a.
Some facts about my center.
Opened April 2000-4 beds
Accredited March 2001-Yes, less than a year open.
Expanded to 6 beds October 2001
Sit on EAB of SleepReview Magazine
100% FIRST-TIME time pass rate for techs taking BRPT exam. 7 techs-so far.
All techs ACLS certified.
Expanding to 10 beds-June 2005.
Have less than 10% turnover rate. So, until your figures look better than these, please don't tell me how to run a sleep center or schedule my night technologists.
