Find a Sleep Disorders Physician with an active practice in insomnia. Not just an "apnea doc" but one who makes it a point to work with insomnia. Start with the list of boarded sleep physicians avialable from the National Sleep Foundation or the American Sleep Disorders Association. As far as screening tests for sleep apnea, don't bother with any screening unless it's MUCH less expensive than that. A good sleep history can be done by a boarded sleep doctor with a 45 -60 min office visit and should provide all the documentation necessary for preapproval from your insurance carrier.
