A BiPap machine is similar to the CPap except when you start to breath out -- the BiPap will reduce pressure which makes it easier to breath.
The pressure will be low as long as your breathing out -- which helped me get rid of those panic awakenigs. If you quit breathing, the BiPap will immediately go back to full pressure to get you started breathing again.
The low pressure occurs only when your exhaling -- you get full pressure otherwise.
The bad news is that the BiPap costs can be five or six times the cost of the CPap unit. But its worth the difference -- my panic level was so high that I could not tolerate a CPap unit.
Hope this helps. Suggest you ask your Doctor if you could try a BiPap unit.
